Table of Contents
Ingredients:
4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup chicken broth
⅓ cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
2 teaspoons lemon zest
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon honey (optional, for a touch of sweetness)
Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C). Remove the chicken and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in the chicken broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Bring to a simmer.
Whisk in the butter and honey (if using) to create a smooth, glossy sauce. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes to slightly reduce.
Combine:
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and spoon the sauce over them. Cook for 2 more minutes to reheat the chicken and meld the flavors.
Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
