what is milk cake

Milk cake, also known as kalakand, is a traditional Indian sweet made from solidified milk.

To prepare it, milk is boiled until it thickens, and an acid or enzyme is added to curdle it.

The resulting chenna (cottage cheese) is then cooked with sugar until it solidifies into a dense, fudgy consistency.

Often flavored with cardamom and garnished with chopped nuts, milk cake has a rich and slightly grainy texture.

It’s popular during festivals and celebrations in India, offering a delightful combination of sweetness and aromatic spices.
