What is momo’s?

Momo’s is a famous in various regions of South Asia, specially in Indian ,Bhutan & Nepal, Tibet,it is made with dough & filled with minced meat, & other spices, the shape of momo’s is a crescent shape, it is made by steam. Momo’s is served with chilli sauce, tomato chutney or any other sauce All ages of people enjoy this food.

Easy method of making momos recipes

  • 1 Cup All purpose flour
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 1/4 Tspn Salt (To make filling )
  • 200 Grams Ground meat
  • 1/4 Cup Onion Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Carrot grated
  • 1/2 Cup Cabbage chopped
  • 1/2 Tspn Greated
  • 1 Garlic cloves minced
  • Salt as required
  • Black pepper powder as
  • 1/2 Tablespoon Vegetables oil
  • 1 Tsp Soya sauce
  1. First take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour and salt mix well
  2. Now add water & knead the dough.
  3. Cover it & Rest for 30 minutes.
  4. Now we prepare filling for this take a pan add oil.
  5. Next add garlic & ginger saute it.
  6. Now add onion, when onion changes its color add ground meat.
  7. Cook meat until meat changes its color.
  8. Now add cabbage & carrot mix well
  9. When all ingredients become soft add soya sauce, salt & black pepper powder.
  10. Cook 2-3 minutes & remove from heat.
  11. After resting time again knead the dough.
  12. Make small balls & roll it.
  13. Roll 3-4 inch in diameter.
  14. Now add filling in center of rolled dough.
  15. Fold the circle in half make half moon shape.
  16. Seal the edges you can make different shapes of momo’s like crescent shape or pleated shape.
  17. Make all momo’s like same process.
  18. Now to cook momo’s you can fry them or you can steam them.
  19. To steam momo’s
  20. Take a steamer put on flame add momo’s in steamer plate with parchment pepper or cabbage leaves.
  21. Steam it 10-15 minutes.
  22. Steam it until it become transparent.
  23. TO fry momo’s
  24. Take a pan put on flame add oil, now add momo’s in pan & cook it 3_4 minutes on medium heat when momo’s bass become golden brown add small amount of water in pan ( water quality should cover momo’s) cover with lid steam it 6_10 minutes, or until dough is cooked.
  25. Serve the momo’s hot with chilli sauce, soya sauce or any other chutney or pickle

Chicken momos

Let’s start making Chicken momos

Ingredients

40_50   round dumpling wrappers

Water as required

500    grams gound chicken

1/4      carrot chopped

1/4     Cup  onion chopped

1/2      Cup cabbage chopped

1         tsp   grated ginger

3       garlic cloves minced

Salt as required

1     tbsp sesame oil

1      Tablespoon soya sauce

2      green chilies chopped

Coriander leaves Chopped

Black pepper as required

Instructions

First take a pan put on flame add oil when when oil become hot add green chilies, onion mix well.

When onion change its color add carrot & cabbage.

After 2_3 minutes change it’s color add salt, soya sauce, black pepper powder and coriander leaves.

When all ingredients mix well add become soft turn off flame..

Now  take wrapper

If you did not have wrappers than take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour, salt mix well.

Add water & knead dough make smooth dough.

Rest it for 20_25 minutes then make a ball & roll it than follow below steps.

Take a wrapper or rolled dough put chicken cooked mixture in center of wrapper.

Fold the wrapper half like half moon you can make crescent or plated shape.

Now next take a steamer put on flame add water in base of steamer.

Next in steamer plate put momo’s on parchment pepper.

Cover it & cook for 10-15 minutes.

When momo’s become transparent, remove it from Steamer.

Serve momo’s hot chutney or sauce

Fried momo’s:

Let’s start making fried momo’s with sauce.

Ingredients

For making dough

3   Cup all purpose flour

Water as required

Salt as required

To make filling

1/2     Cup chopped vegetables ( Bell pepper, carrots, cabbage etc)

1/2   Cup ground meat ( beef or chicken)

2     inch grated ginger

3      garlic cloves ( minced)

3    tablespoon soya sauce

Salt ( as required)

Black pepper powder ( as required)

Oil for deep frying

2    Tablespoon sesame oil

To make dipping sauce

2     green onion Chopped

2   garlic cloves ( minced)

2    tsp sesame oil

2      Tablespoon chilli sauce

4      Tablespoon vinegar

1/2   Cup soya sauce

Instructions

Take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour add salt water mix well.

Now add water & knead the dough.

Make smooth dough.

Rest it for 1/2 hours.

Take a pan put on flame add sesame oil.

When oil become hot add grated ginger and minced garlic saute it.

Next add chopped vegetables ( bell pepper, carrot ,cabbage etc).mix well & cook for 5-6 minutes.

Next add ground meat salt, Black pepper powder & soya sauce mix well.

Cook until all ingredients mix & become soft.

Then turn off flame.

Now after resting time take dough & make balls.

Roll the ball in circle shape 3_ 4 inch diameter.

Now put cook filling in center of circle.

Fold it as semi circle or half moon.

Seal the edges.

Make all momo’s with same process.

Now take a frying pan heat oil for deep frying.

Add momo’s & fry it. It cook 4-5 minutes to fry.

After fry remove it in a pepper or kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Fried momo’s is ready.

Now we make sauce.

For this take a bowl add chopped green onion, minced garlic, sesame oil, chili sauce, vinegar & soya sauce mix it.

Stir to combine all ingredients.

When all ingredients combine well.

Then sauce is ready .

Serve it with momo’s.

Kurkure momo’s recipe with sauce

Let’s make Kurkure momo’s

To make dough

4   Cup all purpose flour

Salt as required

Water as required

To make filling

1   tsp cumin seed

1    tsp greated ginger

2     garlic cloves minced

1    Cup kurkure ( crushed)

2   Cup  mix vegetables ( cabbage, carrot,bell pepper) chopped.

Oi for frying

Salt as required

Black pepper powder as required

1   tsp chilli sauce

2    tsp    soya sauce

2      tsp ginger garlic paste

1     Tablespoon oil

To make sauce

2    tsp soya sauce

2   Tablespoon chilli sauce

4    Tablespoon Tomato ketchup

To make batter

1/2      Cup All purpose flour

1/4    corn flour

Water as required

Red chillies powder

1     tsp    garam masala powder

Salt as required

1      tsp    Vinegar

First we make dough for this take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour add salt mix well.

Add water and make smooth dough.

Rest it for 20_25 minutes.

Now we make filling for this take a pan put on flame add oil when oil become hot add cumin seeds saute it.

Next grated ginger & minced garlic cloves saute it add ginger garlic paste.

After that add mix vegetables mix well.

Next add salt & black pepper mix well.

Then add chilli sauce, soya sauce mix till all ingredients diets mix well.

Cover it  & cook until all vegetables become soft..

When all cooked well turn off flame.

Now next take dough after resting time.

Make balls & roll the dough (3_4 inch in  diameter )

Add cooked vegetable in center of rolled dough.

Now bring all edges together & seal the momo’s.

Remove extra dough if any.

Now make all momo’s with same process.

Next we make slurry or batter to dip momo’s.

First we take bowl add bowl & add all purpose flour, corn flour, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, salt and vinegar mix well.

Add water and make slurry.

Stir continuously to avoid lumps .

Make smooth slurry.

In one plate take crushed kurkure.

Now take a frying pan put on flame add oil for deep frying.

First take momo’s dip in slurry and then dip in crushed kurkures.

If oil become hot add momo’s deep fry it.

When momo’s become golden and crispy remove it in a pepper or kitchen towel to remove excess oil.

Kurkure momo’s is ready.

Now we make sauce for this take bowl add soya sauce, chili sauce and tomato ketchup.

Mix well when all sauce mix together.

Sauce is ready.

Serve kurkure’s momo’s is ready serve with sauce.

Dolma aunty momo’s recipe:

Ingredients

To make dough

2  Cup all purpose flour maida

Water as required

Salt as required

To make filling

1   Cup mushrooms chopped

1    Cup Carrot chopped

1   cup  cabbage chopped

1/2    Cup onion chopped

1      tsp  grated ginger

3    garlic cloves minced

Salt as required

Black pepper powder as required

1    Tablespoon oil

2    Tablespoon soya sauce

To make sauce to dip

1    tsp sesame oil

1   Tablespoon rice vinegar

1/4  Cup soya sauce

1    tsp  chilli flakes

Instructions

First we take  mixing bowl add all purpose flour add salt mix well.

Add water to make soft dough rest it for 1/2 hour.

Now we make filling for this we take pan put on flame .

Add oil become hot.

Add grated ginger & minced garlic mix  well.

Then add onion saute it.

When onion changes its color add mushrooms, carrots and cabbage mix well.

Then add salt, Black pepper powder & soya sauce mix well.

When all ingredients mix well.

Cover with lid and cook until vegetables become soft.

Then turn off flame.

Next after resting time take dough and make small balls.

Roll it 3_4  inch in diameter.

Add cooked vegetable in center of rolled dough.

Bring together all edges or corners of roll.

Seal the momo’s remove if extra dough is left.

Make all momo’s with same process.

Now take steamer & put on flame add water in base of steamer cover lid & let it be 5 minutes..

Next take steamer plate add parchment pepper & put momo’s on it to avoid sticking.

Now remove lid put momo’s steamer plate in steamer cover lid.

Momo’s can take 10-15 to cook or steam.

Then remove momo’s from steamer.

Now we make sauce for this take a bowl add sesame oil, rice vinegar, soya sauce & chili flakes mix well.

When all sauce mix together then sauce is ready.

Serve momo’s with sauce.

Momo’s pizza Recipe

Let’s start making momo’s pizza Recipe

Ingredients

To make dough

2  Cup all purpose flour

Salt as required

Water as required

1  tsp oil

To make pizza topping

Cooked & seasoned momo’s filling ( minced chicken, vegetables or any other filling)

Take your liked topping for pizza. Example ( onion, slices bell pepper, mushrooms, olive oil etc)

1   Cup  Shredded mozzarella cheese

1   Cup pizza sauce

Per_ baked pizza crust or pizza  base.

Instructions

First take a mixing bowl add all purpose flour add salt mix well add make a smooth dough.

Rest it for 1/2 hour.

Now we make filling for this we take cooked & seasoned chicken filling or any other filling you want.

After half hour take dough & make small balls.

Roll all dough ( 3_4 inch in diameter)

Add chicken filling, add water in roll edges.

Bring together all corners of rolled dough.

Seal dough & remove extra dough.

Make all momo’s.

Now we prepare steamer for this add water at base of steamer.

After that take steamer plate add parchment pepper or grease momo’s plate then add momo’s on it .

Cover lid steam it 10-15 minutes.

After that Remove the momo’s.

Preheat your oven.

Now take pizza base or pre-baked pizza crust.

Now spread the sauce on pizza base.

Add pizza sauce then add mozzarella cheese on sauce.

You can add your choice of topping on pizza.

Now add momo’s on top of pizza.

Now add pizza in baking tray.

Bake it 10-15 minutes.

When pizza base become golden brown & cheese is melted remove pizza from oven.

Momo’s pizza is ready to serve.
