What is poha?

Poha is a beaten rice or flattened rice, poha is used as traditional Indian breakfast, it is also used to make snack. Poha is made from rice ( parboiled & beaten flat) After that it dried to from flat, thin flakes. Poha is  made easily & quickly poha is a staple across India’s several regional cuisines.

Poha Recipe

Let’s start making poha simple & quick recipe

Ingredients 

1. 2 cup poha

2. 2 onion (chopped)

3. 2 potato ( peeled & diced)

4. Salt as required

5. 2 Tablespoon vegetable oil

6. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

7. Few curry leaves

8. 1 tsp cumin seed

9. 1 tsp mustard seeds

10. 1/2 cup roasted peanuts

11. 2 green chilies chopped

12. Coriander leaves as required

13. Lemon juice as required

Instructions

1. First of all rinse poha under water in a sieve about 5 minutes then drain its water

2. Take a pan add oil when oil become hot add mustard seeds and cumin seeds saute it

3. Now add green chillies & curry leaves saute it again

4. Add potatoes & fry till it become golden brown & tender

5. Add onion when onion change its color add salt and turmeric powder mix well

6. Now add soaked poha mix well cover with lid reduce the flame

7. Cook 3-5 minutes after that add roasted peanuts to poha when all ingredients cooked and mixed well turn off flame

8. Add coriander leaves & lemon juice mix well poha is ready serve hot.

Indori poha Recipe

Let’s start making indori poha Recipe

Ingredients 

1. 2 cup poha

2. 1/2 cup onion chopped

3. 1/2 cup tomatoes chopped

4. 1/2 roasted peanuts

5. 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

6. 1/2 turmeric powder

7. 1 tsp cumin seeds

8. 1 tsp mustard seeds

9. Few curry leaves

10. 2_4 green chilies chopped

11. Lemon juice as required

12. Coriander leaves as required

13. Salt as required

14. Grated coconut (for garnish)

15. Pomegranate seeds (for garnish)

16. Sev ( for garnish)

Instructions 

1. First of all wash poha in water about 1 minute in a  sieve then drain its water keep aside

2. Take a pan put on flame roast the peanuts when they become crispy, remove it in a plate

3. When they become crispy, remove it in a plate

4. In a Same pan add oil when oil become hot add mustard seeds and cumin seeds saute it

5. Now add curry leaves & again saute it add onion when onion change its color

6. Add tomatoes mix well when tomatoes become soft

7. Add green chilies, turmeric powder & salt mix well

8. Add soaked poha in pan & mix, make sure all ingredients coated with poha

9. Cook on low flame 2_5 minutes add roasted peanuts turn off flame

10. Add lemon juice on poha mix it add grated coconut, pomegranate seeds, sev & coriander leaves on poha as  garnish

11. Indori poha is ready.

Kanda poha Recipe

Kanda poha is a famous maharashtrian dish

Let’s start making Kanda poha Recipe

Ingredients 

1. 4 cup poha

2. 2 onion Chopped

3. Salt as required

4. 4 tablespoon oil

5. 1/2 cup roasted peanuts

6. Few curry leaves

7. 1 tsp cumin seeds

8. 1 tsp mustard seeds

9. 2_4 green chilies chopped

10. 2 tablespoon lemon juice

11. Coriander leaves as required

Instructions 

1. First  of all wash poha in a water in a sieve for 1 minute

2. Than drain its water keep aside take a pan put on flame

3. Add peanuts & roast it until it become crispy

4. In same pan add add oil when oil become hot add cumin seeds mustard seeds saute it

5. Now add onion saute it until it changes its color add green chilies & roasted peanuts saute it well

6. Now add soaked poha in it ,make sure all ingredients coated well with poha

7. Reduce flame to low Cook 3-5 minutes add salt mix well

8. Than turn off flame add lemon juice on Kanda poha

9. Add coriander leaves on top of poha as garnish Kanda poha is ready serve hot.

Bread Poha Recipe

Let’s start making simple bread poha recipe

Ingredients 

1. 8_10 slices of bread

2. 2 onion Chopped

3. 2 tomatoes chopped

4. Salt as required

5. 2 tablespoon vegetable oil

6. 1 tsp red chilli powder

7. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

8. Few curry leaves

9. Q tsp cumin seeds

10. 1 tsp mustard seeds

11. 2_4 green chilies chopped

12. Lemon juice as required

13. Coriander leaves as required

Instructions 

1. First of all take a pan put on flame add oil when oil become hot

2. Add cumin seeds , mustard seeds  ,curry leaves saute it

3. Add onion when onion change its color add tomatoes

4. When tomatoes become soft add green chilies, salt, red chilli powder & turmeric powder mix well

5. Cut bread slices in small squar shape than add it in a pan mix well

6. Make sure all ingredients coated well with bread

7. Cook on low flame cover with lid when all ingredients cooked well

8. Add lemon juice & coriander leaves turn off flame bread poha is ready.

Red poha Recipe

Let’s start making Red poha Recipe

Ingredients 

1. 4 cup red poha

2. 2 onion Chopped

3. Salt as required

4. 4 tablespoon oil

5. 1/2 cup roasted peanuts

6. Few curry leaves

7. 2_4 green chilies

8. 1 tsp cumin seeds

9. 1 tsp mustard seeds

10. Lemon juice as required

11. Coriander leaves as required

Instructions 

1. First of all wash red poha under Water in a sieve for 1 minute drain its water & keep aside

2. Take a pan put on flame add oil when oil become hot

3. Add cumin seeds mustard seeds and curry leaves saute it

4. Add onion mix well when onion changes its color add green chilies mix well

5. Now add soaked red poha, mix well when all ingredients coated with red poha

6. Add salt, roasted peanuts mix well  cook 2_4 minutes on low flame

7. Add lemon juice & coriander leaves mix well & turn off flame

8. Red poha is ready serve hot.

Vegetable poha Recipe

Let’s start making vegetable poha Recipe

Ingredients 

1. 4 cup poha

2. Salt as required

3. 2 tablespoon oil

4. 1 tsp red chilli powder

5. 1 /2 tsp turmeric powder

6. 1 tsp cumin seeds

7. 1 tsp mustard seeds

8. Few curry leaves

9. 2_4 green chilies chopped

10. 1/2  cup green peas

11. 2 small capsicum chopped

12. 2 small carrot chopped

13. 2 onion Chopped

14. Lemon juice as required

15. Coriander leaves as required

Instructions 

1. First of all wash poha under water in sieve for 1 minute than drain its water & keep aside

2. Take a  pan put on flame add oil when oil become hot

3. Add cumin seeds & mustard seeds saute it add curry leaves saute it again

4. Now add onion when onion change its color add green chilies, green peas capsicum & carrot mix well

5. Cook 2_5 minutes on low flame now add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder mix well

6. Now add soaked poha in it  mix well make sure poha coated with all ingredients

7. Add lemon juice & coriander leaves when all ingredients cooked well turn off flame

8. Vegetable poha is ready.
