Turkey Pot Pie Recipe
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cooked turkey, shredded
1 cup frozen mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn, green beans)
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 3/4 cups chicken or turkey broth
2/3 cup milk1 package refrigerated pie crusts (or make your own)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
Stir in the flour, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and dried thyme until well combined.
Gradually whisk in the chicken or turkey broth and milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens and becomes smooth.
Add the shredded turkey and mixed vegetables to the saucepan, stirring to combine.
Cook for a few minutes until the mixture is heated through.
Roll out one pie crust and place it in the bottom of a pie dish.
Pour the turkey mixture over the crust.
Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the turkey mixture.
Seal the edges and cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
Allow the pot pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
